Sathyabama Institute Organized a Seminar on Cyber Crime and Information Security

A Cyber Crime Awareness Session was conducted by Mr. Balu Swaminathan, President – Cyber Society of India (CySI), as part of the Shakti Scholars initiative under the theme “Empower Through Awareness & Wellbeing.”The session focused on building cyber safety awareness, digital resilience, and responsible online behavior. Around 40 young women scholars participated with enthusiasm.

The Department of Forensic Science, School of Science and Humanities, Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, successfully organized a seminar on Cyber Crime and Information Security on 13 November 2025 at the S & H Seminar Hall.

The session featured an insightful talk by Mr. S. Balu (B.A., PGDCCIS), President of the Cyber Society of India and Additional Superintendent of Police (Retd.). His session highlighted emerging cyber threats, investigation techniques, digital safety practices, and the growing need for awareness in cyberspace. Students gained valuable perspectives on real-world challenges and security measures essential in the digital era.

The event was held in the presence and guidance of the institution’s leadership, with support from the convenors and faculty coordinators of the Department of Forensic Science. The session received an enthusiastic response from participants and contributed meaningfully to their knowledge of cyber safety and crime prevention.
